To commemorate the 180th anniversary of N.E. Zhukovsky in 2026, the Scientific Educational Complexes of Fundamental Sciences and Mechanical Engineering proposed that the Academic Council of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University should establish the N.E. Zhukovsky medal in order to support further development of the scientific schools founded by Nikolay Egorovich.

The medal is to be awarded to eligible University employees for notable contribution to the fields of aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, mathematics, mechanics, physics and their applications. The award ceremony will be held annually at the Academic Council of the University.

On February 9th, 2026, the Academic Council of BMSTU approved the list of members for the Expert Council of the N.E. Zhukovsky Medal, featuring renowned researchers in the fields of aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, mathematics, mechanics and physics.
